Patina

by Zan Smith on March 27th, 2010

As I was viewing the  previous  post I noticed  how the patina was an excellent example of a prototypical  finish that I strive for. The patina process is very much an art in and of itself. The three main ingredients for my patinas are water, acid, and patience. Weather plays a big role in the process and that is where most of the patience comes in. It can be your friend or foe depending on the circumstances at hand. Patinas take time to develop and they each have their own personality. My patinas are  variegated blue-green and will weather well when left outdoors.
